Hi.

Welcome to the Curiosity Carnival. An exploration into the fun and messy behind-the-scenes of being a STEM teacher in San Francisco.

Maker Faire 2015

Maker Faire 2015

Since moving to San Francisco in 2009, there have been many annual events that I put in my Top-10, the Maker Faire is definitely one of them. The first time I attended, it was sensory overload - lights, sounds, fire, electronics, tricycles. In 2015, I already committed to volunteering at the Learn to Solder booth. So when I learned that Maker wanted to open up industry day (usually reserved for sponsors and the media) to schools, I was instantly negotiating how my school could attend. It was a magical day - one my kids will always remember.
